This policy explains what personal data Terminal Academy ("we", "us") collects, why, and what your choices are. Terminal Academy is run by Sabit Kazeem Ololade in Nigeria. We keep it short because we collect very little.

1. The short version

Your lessons, commands, files and mission progress stay on your own computer. We do not receive them.
Payments are taken by Creem, our merchant of record. We never see your card details.
To check your licence we store your email, name and an anonymous device ID. We do not sell personal data and we run no advertising or tracking cookies.

2. What we collect, and when

When you visit this website. The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes technical request data (such as your IP address and browser type) to deliver the pages and keep them secure. The pages load fonts from Google Fonts, so Google also receives your IP address. We do not use analytics, advertising pixels or tracking cookies.

When you buy. Checkout is run by Creem. Creem collects your name, email address, country and payment details to process the payment, calculate tax and send your receipt. Creem then tells us your email, name, order reference and which product you bought, plus the licence key it issued to you. We do not receive your card or bank details.

When you use the app. The free missions run entirely on your computer and send nothing to us, apart from a small request for a version file on this website to check for updates. When you activate a licence or open a paid mission, the app sends our licence server: your licence file (which contains your licence ID, email, name and dates), an anonymous device ID, the app version, and the name of the track you are opening. The device ID is a one-way hash derived from an identifier on your computer. We cannot turn it back into your machine's identifier.

When you email us. We keep your message and our reply so we can help you.

What we do not collect. The commands you type, the files you create, your mission progress, your location, or your contacts.

3. What we use it for, and why we are allowed to

To give you access: check your licence, deliver paid missions, limit use to 2 computers and end access when a licence expires or is refunded. (Needed to perform our contract with you.)
To support you and handle refunds or disputes. (Contract and our legitimate interest in running the service.)
To prevent abuse, such as sharing one licence widely. (Our legitimate interest in protecting the product.)
To meet legal duties, such as tax and accounting records. (Legal obligation.)

4. Who we share it with

Creem, which is the merchant of record for your purchase and has its own terms and privacy policy.
Cloudflare, which hosts this website and runs our licence server and database.
Google Fonts, which serves the fonts on our pages.
Authorities or advisers, only where the law requires it or to protect our legal rights.

We do not sell your personal data or share it for advertising.

5. Where it is processed

We operate from Nigeria, and the providers above process data in several countries. By using the service you understand your data may be processed outside your own country. We rely on these providers' own safeguards for those transfers.

6. How long we keep it

We keep licence records (email, name, order reference, licence and device data) for as long as your licence exists, and afterwards for as long as we need to handle support, refunds, disputes and legal record-keeping. You can ask us to delete your data sooner, subject to those needs.

7. Security

Licences are digitally signed, paid lessons are only sent to a valid licence on a registered computer, and all traffic uses HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure, but we limit what we collect so there is little to lose.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, including under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and, for people in the EU or UK, the GDPR, you can ask to see the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, or receive a copy. Email [email protected] from the address you bought with and we will reply within 30 days. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

9. Children

Terminal Academy is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has bought or registered, email us and we will delete it.

10. Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above, and for material changes we will email customers.
